Spectacular vase / ceramic vessel of the firm "Poterie Goicoechea". It presents a metallic black tone, with abstract motifs of Art Deco style. These reasons are presented in the earthy color of the clay and is achieved through the ceramic technique of the "negative painting." These ornaments can remind us of the Art Deco style, which used the geometric shapes so much, or maybe they can evoke different stylized landscapes ... according to we interpret this piece. On the other hand, the reference to classical Greece in its design is undoubtedly, as the vase presents a profile that reminds of the panzuda amphora or ventruda amphora (without the handles). In addition, the result of the colors and the decorative technique used can refer us to the ceramics of the red figures of the athens of the seventh century BC. C.
Metallic or metallic reflex technique
Ceramic decoration technique that stands out for the iridescent metallic brightness of their colors. According to the classical technical process, three cooking were performed: the first one for the “biscu Base of copper, iron and silver salts. from the nineteenth century a wide variety of salts is used) mixed, sometimes, with ocher or fine clays, diluted in vinegar. The metal particles were fixed in the softened glass and, once the piece cooled, it was cleaned to take the brightness.
Negative painting technique
Ceramic technique that consists of the combination of cooking in oxidizing atmosphere for the red color of the ceramic pasta bottom with the use of an engobe for the realization of decorative motifs. Next, the area was subjected to smoked or covered with some substance that was soluble to water. By submitting the object to reducing cooking, this substance was charred or deposited coal on the surface. Then, the Engobe layer fell asleep and the drawing was left with the background color of the container.

Tecnica metallica o a riflesso metallico
