Spectacular ceiling lamp, with the structure made in artisanal hammer and double cylinder, united by filaments, which achieve a resulting result in the profile. The drums of the structure are decorated by cibas applications in cobalt blue tones.
Cibas are small pieces of glass, blown to mouth, very common in the stained glass windows since the Gothic period. Its realization has been maintained until our time, and in this case they contribute to the piece a high artistic and decorative value, thanks to the mixture of techniques and materials. The base, in the lower part, is divided into four equal parts and ornamented with fragments of comaded rock crystals, whose center closes with another Ciba, in this case, with starry shape.
It is a very decorative lamp, thanks to the combination of materials, very typical of modernism, and the tones it presents. Full of originality and fully functional.
Modernism, known in France and Belgium as Art Nouveau, is the concept with which a current of artistic renewal that took place between the end of the 19th and early twentieth centuries is designated. His main intention was to create a young and new, freer and more modern art, a break with the academicism prevailing at the time. For this, it was based on inspiration on nature, but also incorporating the novelties provided by the industrial revolution, especially the new materials and techniques (steel, crystal ...). All this is summarized with an affirmation that could be understood as the motto of the movement; the awareness that "the future has already begun."
Art Nouveau affected all the arts, because it is not only representative in painting or architecture, but also in the design of furniture, rejeria, jewelry ... and, although it can be traced throughout Europe, it did not affect all countries equally . In each region you can see differences. However, unanimous characteristics are the profusion of the curved line and asymmetry, the tendency to stylization, the use of exotic motifs ...
Specifically, this lamp responds to the first stage of the new style, with a remarkable influence of Gothic and art and ornamental elements of Eastern style, but all sifted by new convictions. In short, a type of art closely related to progress and the commitment to the future.
