Oil By François Beraud Years 40 Young Men St Hilaire Du Touvet This oil on canvas was produced by Francois Béraud French painter in the 30s / 40s. Passionate about the landscapes of La Rochelle and the Ile de Ré in his youth, François Béraud later turned to still lifes and genre scenes, before finding fullness in the views of the Sèvre Niortaise or Rochelais trawlers. Almost fawn, his painting bursts into touches of bright colors, carefully arranged or, on the contrary, brightly brushed. At only 39 years old, his fragile health betrayed him as he reached his artistic maturity. He leaves a significant number of oils on canvas, watercolors and drawings which allow us today a good understanding of the artistic course of this man, intimately linked to his biography. The front representing two young men, denotes the influence of the painter René Morère (1907-1942) encountered in the years 1937/1938. The figure on the left with a green jacket represents the painter himself. The back is the village of Saint-Hilaire-du-Touvet in Isère where the painter was in the student sanatorium in 1935/1936. During the occupation the painter occupied several workshops rue Notre-Dame-des-Champs in Paris, which explains the inscription in pencil on the frame. The oil is retained in good condition with some friction and wear, it remains in a more than acceptable condition. It is sold unframed. Sold cleaned as is. For the state thank you for detailing the photos. Do not hesitate to zoom. The photos are an integral part of the description. Dimensions: Height: 46 cm Width: 38 cm Thickness: 2 cm
Dimensioni: Altezza: 46 cm Larghezza: 38 cm Spessore: 2 cm
