Peculiar and linear pair of vintage Italian wall sconces made of nickel-plated and polished brass; on each wall sconce there is a sturdy metal structure to the ends of which are attached two brackets shaped in such a way that it was possible to attach 7 crystal plates joined by tubes arranged in an arc; the two brackets are joined together by a plate on which is fixed the housing for the single light point, from this back plate pass the electrical wires and it also allows you to fix the two sconces to the wall. The seven elegantly shaped crystal slabs alternate in coloring, three are hazelnut, and four are transparent, all protruding outward like petals of a flower. The light from the one lamp passes between them excellently and evenly, creating fantastic plays of light. The sconces were made between 1970 and 1973 by the Veca Company (whose adhesive label is arranged on both objects) based on a design by the Fontana Arte Company. Ditta Veca is a prestigious Italian company that has been transforming crystal and plastic into functional design for many years; Fontana Arte is another prestigious Italian company founded in Milan in 1932 by Luigi Fontana and Giò Ponti and specializing in glass working and the creation of furnishing accessories, is known for designing lighting apparatus, becoming a prominent name in Italian design over the years. Our wall sconces with their simple structure, clean lines, and balanced and dynamic arrangement of crystals are two unique, elegant, and modern pieces of furniture that can be adapted to any room in the home. The sconces are in good condition, only the lamp holders and nickel-plated frame have small oxidation spots. Measurements width cm.15, depth cm.12, height cm.30.
