The illustrations were engraved in a fairly dry material and then received a large layer of frosting or enamel.
This sublime achievement is the work of French ceramist Jacques Blin (1920-1995).

Jacques Blin was a French ceramist, mainly active in the rush period of modernism in the middle of the century.
with Georges Jouve and Pol Chambost, he was one of the most famous ceramists in France in the 1950s and 1960s. Aeronautical engineer graduated, he first worked in this field, but he quickly chose to make his passion For ceramics his profession.
In 1953, he opened his own workshop in Paris.
The workshop workshop of Jacques Blin consisted of Jacques Blin himself, Tourneur François Cuevas, designer/engraver Jean Rustin and his wife Catherine.
This small team of four managed to produce a fairly substantial production of all types of ceramics, but especially vases.
The style of the Jacques Blin workshop is characterized by the presence of illustrations of birds, animals and scenes of daily life and was completely typical of the aesthetics of its time. It was primitive, but artistic and imaginative.
Jacques Blin was also very committed to the defense of his art and his passion.
He became vice-president of the International Ceramic Academy of Geneva and he was president of the Union Chamber of Ceramists and Art Workshops of France for twenty years.

Jacques Blin è stato un ceramista francese, attivo soprattutto nel periodo di punta del modernismo a metà del secolo.
con Georges Jouve e Pol Chambost, è stato uno dei ceramisti più famosi della Francia degli anni Cinquanta e Sessanta. Diplomato ingegnere aeronautico, lavorò inizialmente in questo campo, ma scelse presto di fare della sua passione per la ceramica la sua professione.
Nel 1953 aprì il suo laboratorio a Parigi.
Il laboratorio di Jacques Blin era composto dallo stesso Jacques Blin, dal tourneur François Cuevas, dal designer/incisore Jean Rustin e da sua moglie Catherine.
Questo piccolo team di quattro persone riuscì a realizzare una produzione abbastanza consistente di tutti i tipi di ceramica, ma soprattutto di vasi.
Lo stile della bottega di Jacques Blin è caratterizzato dalla presenza di illustrazioni di uccelli, animali e scene di vita quotidiana ed era assolutamente tipico dell'estetica del suo tempo. Era primitivo, ma artistico e fantasioso.
Jacques Blin era anche molto impegnato nella difesa della sua arte e della sua passione.
Divenne vicepresidente dell'Accademia Internazionale della Ceramica di Ginevra e fu presidente della Camera dell'Unione dei Ceramisti e dei Laboratori d'Arte di Francia per vent'anni.
