Italy, 30's/40's ORIGIN Italy PERIOD 30's/40's AUTHOR Guido CACCIAPUOTI Born in Naples August 11, 1892 belongs to an ancient family of majolica makers from which he learned the secrets of ceramic art. Modeler of great talent is highlighted for its beautiful sculptures of animal subjects. After moving with his brother Mario to Treviso, he worked at the 'Gregori' factory and in 1915 he successfully participated in the Treviso Art Exhibition. Occasionally has relationships of collaboration with the company 'Lazzar & Marcon' of Treviso. In 1920 he presented some works at the XII Venice Biennale and the following year he exhibited at the Regional Exhibition of Art in Treviso. Buy some of his works the King of Italy, Mussolini, Starace and Prince George of England. In 1927, together with his brother Mario and Angelo Bignami in the role of administrative and commercial director of the company, he founded the factory 'Gres d'Arte Cacciapuoti Bignami & C.' based in Milan in Viale Premuda 34. In 1930, due to the untimely death of his brother, he became the sole owner of the company. The factory was immediately successful and became famous for the realistic sculptures of animals made by Guido. Guido Cacciapuoti died in 1953. Italia, Anni 30/40 ORIGINE Italia PERIODO Anni 30/40 AUTORE Guido CACCIAPUOTI Nato a Napoli l'11 agosto del 1892 appartiene ad un'antica famiglia di maiolicari dalla quale apprende i segreti dell'arte ceramica. Modellatore di grande talento si mette in luce per le sue belle sculture a soggetto animale. Trasferitosi insieme al fretello Mario a Treviso lavora presso la manifattura 'Gregori' e nel 1915 partecipa con successo alla Mostra d'Arte Trevigiana. Saltuariamente ha rapporti di collaborazione anche con la ditta 'Lazzar & Marcon' di Treviso. Nel 1920 presenta alcune opere alla XII Biennale di Venezia e l'anno successivo espone alla Mostra Regionale d'Arte di Treviso. Acquistano alcuni suoi lavori il Re d'Italia, Mussolini, Starace e il Principe Giorgio d'Inghilterra. Nel 1927, assieme al fratello Mario e con Angelo Bignami nel ruolo di direttore amministrativo e commerciale della ditta, fonda la manifattura 'Gres d'Arte Cacciapuoti Bignami & C.' con sede a Milano in viale Premuda 34. Nel 1930, a causa della prematura morte del fratello, rimane unico titolare della ditta. La manifattura riscuote da subito un grande successo e diviene famosa per le realistiche sculture di animali realizzate da Guido. Guido Cacciapuoti muore nel 1953 .
