Looking at this ring I think one can easily think that there has been a mistake and that it is not a jewel, but rather a small abstract painting; its shape, its lines and the stones chosen to decorate it in fact immediately bring to mind the most famous works of art created under the abstract movement First of all, the frame has a non-linear and unordered shape, but rather folded and that we could define as strange and out of the ordinary, with a higher and a lower side, and defined by lines of different shapes and different sizes. The front is thus divided into two main sections, each decorated with a fancy-cut doublet opal and which are characterized by two very different colours: the opal on the left has a much lighter base, of a bright blue and crossed by flashes of different colors; the opal on the right, smaller, is instead much darker, of an intense and deep midnight blue, also crossed by shades of different colors. The final result is undoubtedly suggestive and incredible, which increases that sense of illusion typical of abstract art. The setting of the ring is 9K yellow gold, and it is interesting to note that the back of both opals are completely closed. Epoch : 70s / 80s. Size : 16. Materials : 9k yellow gold and fancy cut doublet opals. Dimensions : height: 1,1 cm width: 1,7 cm depth: 0,5 cm. Weight : 5.6 g. Conditions : excellent condition with normal signs of wear commensurate with the age of the jewel.
