Genova olim Ligusticum is a charming antique map etched on paper, representing the ''Genovesato Parte Orientale'' or the Genoa area and devoted to the prince and cardinal Carpegna, realized by one of the biggest signature of the cartography, Vincenzo Maria Coronelli (Venice, 1650 - 1718). Titled and signed on plate '' Autt. P. Cosmografo Coronelli'' on lower left margin. In excellenct conditions, with some signs of renovations along the usual folds of the paper. A really precious and charming antique map, only for connoisseurs! Vincenzo Maria Coronelli (Venice, 1650 - Venice, 1718) Vincenzo Maria Coronelli was an Italian Franciscan, cartographer and encyclopedist. In 1663, very young, he entered the Franciscan order of the Friars Minor Conventual, becoming a novice in 1665. and in 1701 he became Minister General. In 1671, he entered the Convent of Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari in Venice, and in 1672 in the order of the Collegio San Bonaventura in Grottaferrata. Later he also specialized in astronomy and Euclidean mathematics. From 1678, Coronelli began to work in geography and was commissioned to build globes that represented the Earth and the celestial bodies for the Duke of Parma Ranuccio II Farnese. In 1681, Coronelli moved to Paris, where he would remain two years: here the fame of Coronelli as ''master in the production of Globes'' became famous throughout Europe, so much so that Cardinal d'Estrées, French ambassador of Louis XIV in Rome, he ordered two globes to be assigned to Louis XIV, to embellish the Royal Library of the Palace of Versailles. Returning to Venice in 1684, Coronelli was appointed cosmographer at the University of the Most Serene Republic of Venice and founded the Academy of the Argonauts, the first geographical society in the world. Genova olim Ligusticum è un'affascinante carta antica incisa su carta, raffigurante il ''Genovesato Parte Orientale'' o il territorio genovese e dedicata al principe e cardinale Carpegna, realizzata da una delle più grandi firme della cartografia, Vincenzo Maria Coronelli (Venezia, 1650 - 1718). Titolato e firmato su tavola '' Autt. P. Cosmografo Coronelli'' in basso a sinistra. In ottime condizioni, con alcuni segni di restauro lungo le solite pieghe della carta. Una carta antica davvero preziosa e affascinante, solo per intenditori! Vincenzo Maria Coronelli (Venezia, 1650 - Venezia, 1718) Vincenzo Maria Coronelli era un francescano italiano, cartografo ed enciclopedista. Nel 1663, giovanissimo, entrò nell'ordine francescano dei Frati Minori Conventuali, diventando novizio nel 1665. e nel 1701 divenne Ministro generale. Nel 1671 entrò nel Convento di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari a Venezia e nel 1672 nell'ordine del Collegio San Bonaventura di Grottaferrata. In seguito si specializzò anche in astronomia e matematica euclidea. Dal 1678 il Coronelli iniziò a lavorare in geografia e fu incaricato di costruire globi che rappresentavano la Terra e i corpi celesti per il duca di Parma Ranuccio II Farnese. Nel 1681 Coronelli si trasferì a Parigi, dove rimase per due anni: qui la fama di Coronelli come ''maestro nella produzione dei globi'' divenne famosa in tutta Europa, tanto che il Cardinale d'Estrées, ambasciatore francese di Luigi XIV a Roma, ordinò che due globi fossero assegnati a Luigi XIV, per abbellire la Biblioteca Reale della Reggia di Versailles. Tornato a Venezia nel 1684, Coronelli fu nominato cosmografo dell'Università della Serenissima Repubblica di Venezia e fondò l'Accademia degli Argonauti, la prima società geografica del mondo. L'opera d'arte viene spedita dall'Italia. Secondo la legislazione vigente, qualsiasi opera d'arte creata in Italia oltre 70 anni fa da un artista morto richiede una licenza per l'esportazione indipendentemente dal prezzo di mercato dell'opera.
