He has been living in his own world and could not get along with others so well. Maybe modern people who only remember the best in this busy world could treat him as stuffy and slow one. But Ttubucki is a child who walks his way according to his own beliefs and standards. The artist wants to show strong desire to keep in mind and remember things which had been erased and forgotten through Ttubucki in this work. Hyun Deok-Sik chooses Zhangji-technique which is the traditional technique to record stone craftsmen’ history and daily lives by carving the stone over and over. By Hyun Deok-Sik : "Carving" means a desperate desire to reveal events or daily precious things that have not been erased from memory but might be forgotten. I hope that my work can be and opportunity for the audience to think again and find out the honest looks of the past that has been forgotten before like me.

Vive nel suo mondo e non riesce ad andare d'accordo con gli altri. Forse le persone moderne, che ricordano solo il meglio di questo mondo frenetico, potrebbero trattarlo come una persona soffocante e lenta. Ma Ttubucki è un bambino che percorre la sua strada secondo le proprie convinzioni e i propri standard. In quest'opera l'artista vuole mostrare il forte desiderio di tenere a mente e ricordare cose che sono state cancellate e dimenticate attraverso Ttubucki. Hyun Deok-Sik sceglie la tecnica Zhangji, che è la tecnica tradizionale per registrare la storia e la vita quotidiana degli artigiani della pietra, incidendo la pietra più volte. Di Hyun Deok-Sik: "Scolpire" significa un desiderio disperato di rivelare eventi o cose quotidiane preziose che non sono state cancellate dalla memoria ma che potrebbero essere dimenticate. Spero che il mio lavoro possa essere un'opportunità per il pubblico di ripensare e scoprire gli sguardi onesti del passato che è stato dimenticato come me.
