Oil painting on canvas. North European school of the nineteenth century. This suggestive night view with the full moon that illuminates a cemetery, dominated by the large crucifix on the left and with a bat that hops on the right, it is well inserted in that secular meditation on the theme of the cult of the dead e of the burial that since the mid -eighteenth century has passionate about Europe, giving rise to an elaboration of a modern conception of cemetery, with the recovery of a dignity -not a healthy -of this place. To this are added the romantic reflections on the man-natural relationship seen as the affirmation of the equivalent finiteness of the human being opposed to the infinity that surrounds him; We therefore arrive in painting to represent the tombs and cemeteries, symbols of finiteness and transience, always wrapped, almost surrounded by nature, sign of infinite, of life that continues. As in this work, where the lunar light, which pierces the clouds Del darkness, he restores clear and therefore life to the cemetery. The work, restored and restored, has small falls of color. It is presented in the frame of the late 1800s.
